The Dirkon ‘1979’ - Real working camera made from card.
We were talking about pinhole photography at college last week and our lecturer told us about the Dirkon, so he gave us the original instructions from 1979 most of which are in Czech :)
I gave it a bash today. There’s a hell of a lot of work in it and took me hours ,but I can’t wait to see the results after I take a few shots.
The origins of Art Criticism
Just another day in the studio at college. Boo to the Oct holidays :(
“It’s not about the soup” :)
My dad was cleaning out a cupboard yesterday and he found my John Lennon book that I thought I had lost years ago.
I love it for 2 reasons -
1. It has everything you would ever want to know and, more about Mr Lennon.
2. It’s huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge - A3 size hardback, so I can see my favourite photograph of all time up close and personal.
And here it is !
I even tried to copy it when I was 16, using my friend Claire as a stand in for John and random shoppers as Stu Sutcliffe, Paul McCartnery and George Harrison. It turned out ok and I even used it in my very first portfolio.
The photo was taken by Jurgen Vollmer (partly responsible for the famous Beatles haircut) while the Beatles (with Stu Sutcliffe and Pete Best) did a stint in Hamburg.
TIME-LAPSING - GOOD TIMES !!!
